Obsession of the Moment: Visual.ly

Readers, I think I have a new obsession. No, it's not my apartment (Though my new pad takes a close second--more on that later)--it's Visual.ly, a new website dedicated to infographics (like the one pictured above!). Right now, the website features a library of serious and silly infographics depicting data in visually creative ways like this graphic of America's current state of unemployment or this one about Macs vs PCs. My personal favorite? Visual.ly's Social Media Yearbook.

The best part? The website is currently working on a "lab" where users can enter data to create their own infographics like the one pictured above. Be sure to sign up for their email list for the latest updates. I can't wait for the launch.

Readers--have you checked out Visual.ly yet? What are your favorite new websites?

Obsession of the Moment: Angus Dei Design

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of meeting Danjebis Rodrigues of Agnus Dei Designs on the corner of 23rd and Madison. He was in need of directions, and somehow pegged me for a local. I'm still not sure if I pointed him toward his destination, but a quick conversation and his black-on-black business card steered me toward his jewelry company's website.

Rodrigues' designs are the perfect edge to roughen up my classic style. I love his cuffs, especially the Doors of Perception wrap bracelets and the simple Signature Evolution Cuff. And his unique rings would be the perfect contrast to a polished party frock.

I definitely recommend checking out his collection. It's a bit pricey, but his looks are so unique and made of high-quality metals. They're totally worth it.

Obsession of the moment: One Day

While procrastinating for my final(!) final exam, I stumbled upon this gem of a movie trailer. Starring two of my favorite actors, Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, One Day looks like the perfect blend of sassy humor and emotional love story, all with a heavy dose of charming British accents.

Unfortunately the full-length film doesn't come out until August, so I'm stuck watching and re-watching the trailer for now. Readers--what movies are you looking forward to?

Obsession of the Moment: American Apparel Clutches

American Apparel recently posted new spring colors of their medium leather carry-all pouch, and I am obsessed. The simple design is the perfect size for a night on the town, and the fun colors would add a pop to any outfit. Priced at an affordable $45, this leather clutch is definitely on my wish list this spring. I think my favorite would have to be either the classic camel or seasonal sky blue.

Readers, what's your go-to bag for spring?

Obsessed with: butter LONDON

Many of my favorite things hail from the UK: Digestive Cookies, Topshop, Robert Pattinson, and most recently, butter LONDON, a nail polish and beauty brand that focuses on colour instead of carcinogens.

When Sasha Muir moved to the US in the late 90's, she was alarmed by the amount of toxic chemicals found in cosmetic products in this country. Muir saw the need for a new brand of nail polish and founded butter LONDON with the philosophy: 3 Free. 3 Free means that every butter LONDON product is made without formaldehyde, without toluene, and without DBP (Phthales), three chemicals that are very dangerous and can cause cancer, severe nausea, birth defects in children and respiratory disease among a host of other serious conditions.

I was so excited what i received a bottle of butter for Christmas and couldn't wait to test this healthy product. Fortunately, butter passed the beauty bar with flying colors, and no nail polish would be complete without a cheeky name. This shimmery nude is called All Hail the Queen.

Obsession of the Moment: House of Harlow 1960

Earlier this week, Shopbop.com debuted House of Harlow 1960's Fall 2010 collection. Filled with statement pieces, the triangle-inspired line ranges in price from $57 for a set of turquoise leather and gold earrings to $220 for a tribal cuff. While slightly extravagant for everyday, pieces from Nicole Richie's fall collection would add the perfect boho-chic touch to an outfit for evening. My obsession of the moment: the enameled tribal wrap ring ($65). It adds an instant "cool" factor to any look.

Readers, will you be shopping House of Harlow's Fall line? What are your favorite jewelry pieces this season?

Obsession of the Moment: L'aromarine Vanille

I am very particular about perfume. It takes me a while to find the right scent, but when I do, I hold on to it for dear life. Well, that is, until something better comes along. Previous favorites include Burberry Brit, DKNY Be Delicious and Philosophy's Falling in Love, but L'aromarine Vanille beat them all to become my new go-to scent. This perfume smells like a cross between the Flower Power movement and freshly baked cupcakes. Light and fresh, each spray of this eau de toilette adds just a touch of vanilla fragrance. I'm obsessed. I picked up a bottle just before leaving Nashville at my local Anthropologie, and I've worn it everyday since- It's so subtle. I can't seem to find the product on Anthro's website, but click here to purchase it from Amazon.com.
