Today, we mainly want to talk about how to choose your own pants. Pants as the single clothing in our wardrobe is the most common clothing but many people are likely to neglect it. When to choose pants you need to consider the material as well as the outline shape.

Here are two kinds of pants which can show your legs more slender.

Bag-type pants are the pants that the upper part is relatively loose, and the legs part is tight. This kind of high-waist pants will make your legs appear longer and thinner than the real ones.

Third, the length of the pants can influence the one’s appearance, the width of the pants can shape one’s character.

People wear long pants which will make them look elegant and calm, but if they wear the short pants which will make them look young and sexy.

The width of the pants impacts the outline of your lower body. The general shape of the pants is divided into tight pants and loose pants. Tight pants make people look sexy, and loose pants make people look relaxed and light. You need to consider how to wear pants to match the clothes. Dress has gradually become a necessity in modern women’s wardrobe. If you wear a suitable, fashionable, and charming dress to take part in the dinner party or other important social occasions, I think you will be the focus and bring the "butterfly" effect. So how to choose a perfect dress that is suitable for yourself?

First, know well about the skin-color, body size and other characteristics of yourself. Details are as follows.

Review: Caylpso St. Barth for Target

Yesterday I took a much-needed study break to check out Target's latest designer collaboration with Calypso St. Barth. I was pleasantly surprised-- the quality of this line seemed better than other recent Target/designer collaborations (cough go-international dress re-release), but I couldn't bring myself to purchase anything and ultimately walked away empty-handed.

I liked the styles of several dresses, but unfortunately the color palate of this line just wasn't flattering on my fair skin tone. Also, while I will admit that the quality of these pieces is decent (the dresses have linings, and there are intricate details and embroidery on most blouses and swimsuits), the price-point is a bit high. If I'm going to spend $40 on a dress from Target, I have to love it, and nothing in the limited selection of pieces from this clothing line at my local store fit that criteria.

 

The jewelry and home lines on the other hand, are different stories entirely. I loved the designs for home. The sea glass-inspired tumblers, metallic votive holders and ceramic elephant teapots were all gorgeous, but I  wouldn't have a place to put them, so I had to pass. I hope I don't kick myself later!

My choice to leave behind the jewelry designs is a similar story. I thought the gypsy-inspired bangles were fun and the playful mix of leather and metallics was endearing, but in the end, nothing sealed the deal. There's a chance I'll go back for one of these wrap bracelets.  They caught my attention and $20 seems like a decent price.

Overall, I thought the collection had some real potential, but nothing worked for me. Readers--have you seen the line? What do you think?

Wake Forest Alum Starts Preppy Clothing Line: Southern fROCK

Fashionistas dissatisfied with your current wardrobes, look no further than Southern fROCK for this season’s most-stylish tailgating attire. Drawing inspiration from the laid-back lifestyle of the coastal Carolinas, Southern fROCK’s spring/summer 2010 collection is filled with light-weight fabrics, flattering silhouettes and perfect pieces to transition from a casual lunch date to a night on the town.

The preppy clothing company, best known for vibrant sundresses and chic skirts, was founded by Wake alumna, Amelia Rogers, and her close friend Emily Newman in the fall of 2009. Just three years after starting her career as a kindergarten teacher in Charlotte, NC, Rogers made an impromptu life-changing decision when she spontaneously moved to Charleston, with Newman, a childhood friend and fashion design major who had recently graduated from Meredith College.The pair spent a few months hammering out the details of starting a clothing company, and Southern fROCK was born.

Unfortunately, the company decided to forgo designing a fall/winter women’s wear collection this year. Instead, Southern fROCK is choosing to focus on preparing for the Atlanta Apparel Trade Market in October, giving the company an opportunity to be showcased to wholesale buyers alongside popular clothing lines including Vineyard Vines. Additionally, this fall, Rogers and Newman are expanding the company to include a menswear line. “The Tobacco Road” is a collection of men’s clothing inspired by local sports and North Carolina history, scheduled to debut in November.

The company’s original marketing platform was based entirely around digital sales and trunk shows, but boutiques in North Carolina and Georgia recently started carrying the line. With the exception of that obnoxious horn noise and one horrible call during the US vs. Slovenia game, I have been loving every minute of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Combine my new-found love of soccer with a longstanding obsession with flip flops, and you come up with Havaianas' line of World Cup-inspired sandals. Consider me your guide to this summer’s hottest trends. So toss aside Wake’s unofficial uniform—come on, we all know there is one—and get ready to turn up the heat on your wardrobe.

This summer, designers are going native. No, Marc Jacobs isn’t roaming the streets of New York in a loin cloth; instead, summer collections illustrate the influence of African culture and art on modern fashion. From tribal-print fabrics to exotic statement necklaces, this trend infiltrates all categories of clothing from casual loungewear to cocktail attire and accessories. If you’re hesitant about styling this look, start small. Carry an ikat clutch with jeans and a tee or throw a brightly-colored stone necklace over a little black dress. For the more adventurous among you, a bold printed blouse looks great in contrast to a sleek pencil skirt and minimal jewelry.

If you haven’t been outside recently, it’s hot. So hot, in fact, that underwear is now appropriate for outerwear. Girls in White Dresses...

My cousin's graduation this past weekend got me thinking about my own graduation ceremony. I went to a small all-girls prep school where tradition reigned supreme--No caps and gowns, my classmates and I all wore long white dresses. While I missed out on moving my tassel and tossing my cap, at least my outfit was stylish! Right behind flip flops, sunglasses, and SPF 15, the perfect little white dress is high on my list of summer fashion essentials. I picked some of my favorite LWDs from around the web:

Urban Outfitters BDG Knit Tank Swing Dress ($32): Casual, simple and effortlessly chic, this Urban Outfitters swing dress would be perfect to throw on for a trip to the pool or walking around campus--And at only 32 dollars, the price is right!

Banana Republic Deep Vee Back-Zip Dress ($150): The touch of black makes this cocktail dress oh so classy--and I love Banana Republic's styling in this photo.

Gap Convertible Maxi Dress ($98): This easy-breezy maxi dress is right on-trend for this season, but make sure you style it more beachy and less bride. Pair it with simple leather sandals, a chunky necklace and a wavy hairstyle for a flawless boho-chic look.

Anthropologie's In A Twinkling Dress ($138): The blog world has been giving this dress mixed reviews. It's cute and flattering, but word on the street is that those gorgeous metallic dots are itchy to the point of skin irritation. I haven't tried it on myself, but it's high on my wish-list despite the bad press. I'll have to trek over to my local Anthro and give it a try.

Shoshanna Bustier Eyelet Sundress ($330): 330 dollars is a bit more than I can afford to spend on a sundress these days, but this Shoshanna number is gorgeous if you have the cash!

Flea Market Dress from Spool 72 ($64): I stumbled upon Spool 72 when it showed up as an ad on Facebook. I clicked the link on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. This vintage-inspired shop has great on-trend pieces at affordable prices like this off the shoulder piece. I love the sash and scalloped hem.
