Fashion Rules: Seersucker

1.) J.Crew Swimsuit: (top $52, bottom $44), 2.) American Apparel Seersucker Full Woven Skirt $38, 3.) Anthropologie Besotted Dress $138, 4.) Kate Spade Seersucker Jenny Ann $125, 5.)Urban Outfitters Seersucker Plimsoll Sneaker $24

This year Easter falls particularly late in the spring season, and it's really cramping my style. Traditional fashion rules dictate that seersucker should not be worn until after Easter, but it has been so nice out recently I've been itching to don this colorful, lightweight fabric.

Readers--Let me know your fashion verdict. Would you wear seersucker before Easter? What fashion "rules" do you abide by?

Target Re-releases the Best of Go International

For the past five years, Target has been bringing designer fashion to the masses with its Go International  collaboration lines. This March the retail giant is showcasing the best of collections past with the re-release of 34 Go International dresses.

I definitely regret missing out on Thakoon and Proenza Schouler for Target, so I'm super excited to have this second chance. The dresses will be available online and in stores from March 13th to April 10th and will range in price from $25 to $45. Check out my favorite pieces below or click over to College Fashion for a complete look at the collection.

Reader's will you be shopping this collection? Which looks are you favorites?

PS How cute are the Dolce Vita wedges some of the models are wearing?

Sundress Day Dreams

1.) Shoshanna Strapless Full Skirt Dress (Shopbop $375)
2.) Mojave Bikini (Anthropologie $148)
3.) Jack Rogers Hampton Thong Sandals (Bloomingdale's $96)
4.) Spring Flower Ring (Forever 21 $3.80)
5.) See by Chloe Tieta Carryall (Shopbop $175)
6.) Umbrella in Diane Signature Print ($45)
7.) Cats 1000 (Ray-Ban $135)

I know it's hard to believe with all this talk of snowpocalypses and snowmageddons, but yesterday Punxsutawney Phil predicted spring is on its way. Even though the temperature in North Carolina is barely out of the thirties, I couldn't help but get a little excited. I'm already dreaming of sundress season.

Readers, are y'all ready for spring fashion? Or are the mittens and scarves of winter more your style?

Kate Spade Fever

Last week I was so excited when my friend Emily sent me this link announcing that Kate Spade, the New York designer best known for her colorful accessories, printed stationary and feminine silhouettes, is launching a new bed and bath collection this spring! The line will include the bold prints and bright colors consumers have come to expect from Kate Spade. Not sure if I'll be able to afford it, but I can't wait to see the complete line!

My Kate Spade frenzy continued when I saw that the brand uploaded images from their Spring 2011 collection onto their look book website. I love the Iris top ($245), Hand in Hand bangles ($48 each) and the Samantha bag ($575)

Readers, what do you think of Kate Spade's spring ventures? What other designers' collections are you looking forward to this spring?

In the words of Rachel Zoe: Ba-nan-as.

My current residence, the small town of Winston-Salem, is a far cry from the bright lights and big city of New York, but that doesn't mean I'm completely isolated from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Technology is such a beautiful thing--All I have to do is click over to New York Magazine's fashion blog, The Cut for a complete list of live-streaming runway shows that I can watch in the comfort of my living room. And if I do happen to miss a moment of the catwalk, I know style.com will showcase highlights of each collection. We're only a little over half-way finished with the event, but here are my top 10 looks from New York Fashion Week thus far:

10. Rebecca Minkoff

9. Marc by Marc Jacobs

8. Herve Leger
7. Marc Jacobs

 6. Victoria Beckham

5. Vena Cava

4. Badgley Mischka

 3.Tracy Reese

2. Diane von Furstenberg

 1. Carolina Herrera
