Fashion Week, What does layman see?

In the fashion industry, every September and February are more lively than Christmas Day and the Spring Festival, because of four famous fashion weeks are held at this time. This year's 2012 spring and summer series New York fashion was just over, London fashion week is still in full swing, then there are the grand opera Milan and Paris. Vogue experts and fashion editors are happy to watch the show, study every brand's design essence, summarize the popular trend of the next year. They watch them clearly and logically, but what do we layman see? Only one answer: lively things!

1. See stars

The star is a bridge, one end is the fashion industry, and the other end is common people. Every year's fashion weeks, the stars are full of the front row, they act as a small horn role, makes the fashion week be not only the big ceremony at the fashion industry, also still let the people can watch them wonderfully. Chinese people are most likely to see the Chinese stars. Fan bingbing and YaoChen have made a big noise in Paris fashion week, and then walk onto the wide road to be an icon. According to reliable informant revealed, YangMi will go to milan fashion week, and ZhouXun will be the heavyweight guest in Paris fashion week.

2. See Gossip

Nothing will be more gossip than the fashion world. Small one like which editor has an affair, big one like which stylist to be fired...... They all like the wind below beside the mouth. The biggest gossip in this year should be where is the Dior designer belong to. Since John Galliano left, the rumours are raised every where. We don't know whether in this Paris fashion week the answer to the riddle will be revealed to the public. Who will be out in the curtain call, a whole design team, or Takeshi Kaneshiro in the fashion industry, current stylist of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs? Or is the eerie genius, Tisci Ricardo of Givenchy ? Wait and see.

3. See Raity

Things happened under the T stage are more interesting than the colorful shows on T stage. We do not know if this year there will be Sacha Baron Cohen such a crazy, to dress up like a bag of trash ran to disturb the Prada T stage? We do not know if this year will keep Kanye West such a super star out of the brand's door? We are not gloating, we ordinary citizen prefer to see Lady Gaga than Kate Moss.

Stars are glaring in Toronto International Film Festival

Well it is really busy in September, the Venice International Film Festival hasn't been closed, and the New York Fashion Week has just opened, at the same time Toronto International Film Festival is just kicking off. And there are so many wonderful events, and so many celebrities appear on the catwalk. We can pay attention to their different fashion styles.

Ten Year, which had its premiere screening at Ryerson last night, boasts an impressive list of stars, including Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Justin Long, Oscar Isaac and Rosario Dawson. It follows a group of high school friends who meet again at their 10 year reunion. At the pre-show dinner, Channing showed chivalry is not dead, according to a report in The Globe and Mail. Because his wife/co star Jenna's pink cocktail dress was too tight to navigate the stairs into the restaurant, he carried her up two flights to the private event at Soho House. This is the second time they've co starred in a film, they first met in 2005 during the filming of the dance movie.

Madonna wore a Tom Ford dress on the red carpet to promote her second movie as a director W.E. about a woman (played by Abbie Cornish) who obsesses about divorcée Wallis Simpson, for whom King Edward gave up his throne. Introduced "one of the most famous people in the world" on the red. When asked what sacrifices she's made, Madonna answered:"You make a lot of sacrifices and compromises. For instance, I didn't get to see my kids very much. So that was a big compromise because I love my movie. So you always have to give up something for something you love, right?"

Gerard Butler was looking trim, healthy and more handsome than ever at the Machine Gun Preacher premiere at Roy Thomson Hall. He clowned with the crowd for photographs and signed hundreds of autographs before going in to watch the world premiere of his new film. Also on hand were his co stars Michelle Monaghan, Madeline Carroll and Michael Shannon, as well as Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro, who co starred with Gerard in the 2007 movie 300.

Fan favorite Viggo Mortensen made sure to greet the fans who'd been waiting for hours to see him when he arrived at Roy Thomson Hall for the gala screening of his latest film, A Dangerous Method, which also stars Keira Knightley. Earlier in the day, the co stars posed with a Montreal Canadiens hockey sweater to tease their Toronto born director, David Cronenberg. Keira says she had no idea what the significance of the sweater meant, but when Viggo "told me it would wind David up, we decided it would be a good idea," she admitted. He also posed for Tribute's cameras holding a Montreal Canadiens flag. It looks like these two had a great time at TIFF!

Fans who'd lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of Brad Pitt at the premiere of Moneyball were not disappointed. He showed up on the red carpet with his partner, Angelina Jolie, at Roy Thomson Hall and immediately walked up to the fans to sign autographs and pose for photographs. Jolie, elegantly dressed in a black gown, also talked to fans and signed autographs.

New York Fashion Week: stars in the spring/summer 2012 front rows

Paris has creativity, London has talent and Milan offers luxury, but what is New York's niche? Perceived as the poor relation, the city needed to raise its game. So did the shows deliver? Let's fall in love with the latest collection of the upcoming season, the celebrities wear in the front rows.

A smattering of actresses, singers and even models all want a piece of the front row action this season. Proving that she's very much the Marc by Marc Jacobs muse, teen actress Elle Fanning was seated front row at the designer's show. Look out for her in the Marc by Marc autumn/winter 2011 ad campaign.

A newly pregnant Beyoncé popped to see the J.Crew presentation with her stylish sister Solange. Perhaps the singing sensation was eyeing up some colourful maternity dress solutions...

When you think of designer Carolina Herrera, you think of an Upper Avenue princess, not a fluorescent clad Nicki Minaj. Top marks go to the hip hop chart topper for eschewing the norm of wearing a designer's garb when rocking up to their show.

Fashion Week's Hottest Coats, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

Did they get the memo? This year, fur was the end-all-be-all for coats in almost every collection. Whether as full on trim like on this fab coat from Venexiana or just as a subtle touch, like on the Jason Wu coat, its showing up on every catwalk.

However, this could serve as problematic as far as sales go for designers...with more and more celebs and consumers becoming outspoken against fur, these coats may not have a market to be bought it. Former model and television show host Tyra Banks prefers faux, and designers like Stella McCartney have been known to keep their lines fur free.

What's your stance on the whole faux vs. fur debate? Is it fashion, or cruelty?

Heatherette Rocks the Catwalk, Couture in the City Fashion Blog

To me, the Heatherette show reminds me of a few things:

1) The Heatherette boys went crazy with the Barbie clothing weaving looms. Remember those kits you could get that had the pink circular looms, and you could create sparkly knit leggings for your Barbie dolls? Yeah, that's what this line reminds me of, but add some hot glue gunned buttons and accessories from the craft store, circa 1989.

2) This season, "Gaudy" is the new Boho-chic: Gold lame puff jackets? Unnecessary chest harnesses? Fur in surprising places? Elvis' long lost poncho? Yes please!

3) Elizabeth Taylor's closet vomited.

Isn't fashion week grand? In all honesty, I was disappointed by Heatherette's total lack of imagination in their new line...there isn't one wearable item that you could just throw on with a pair of jeans and have your best friend covet. It's all just a little icky. Oh well, maybe in the fall...

When I think of Carolina Herrera, I think of beautiful clothing for mature but fashionable, wealthy women.
